DJ
Guide News - Early Edition for April '06
"I just couldn't
wait."
New Forums at iDJOnDemand.com
I
started a DJ forum for iDJOnDemand.com members and visitors
to The-DJ-Equioment-Guide.com. I know another DJ forum/message
board but it was coming all along. It's still in its infancy
but hopefully that won't last long.
I'm
looking
these forums to be a place where the DJ community can help
one another with equipment and tips. If you have any video
tips or know of places online please share them in the forums.
This is not a fly by night forum. It will be hear for the
long haul and I need you to make that happen.
There
is a special affiliates section to get
questions answered and to get help on promoting the DJ affiliate
program. There are forums on dj gear reviews by manufacturer,
general equipment sections such as 'tables, mixers etc...and
more. We are looking for 100 affiliates per month to register.
If you have an idea for a forum just leave it in the Suggestions
Forum.
Do
You Want To Be A Forum Moderator?
I am looking for forum moderators also. If you would like
to be a forum moderator please let me by contacting me. Click
here.
The
purpose of the Forum Moderator is to keep threads or discussions
posted in the proper forums and to make sure users are adhering
to the forums rules. The rules are pretty flexible right
now but are subject to change. Who knows I may contact you
to moderate a forum.
Need To Get An Answer Right Away?
If you need an answer to
a DJ equipment question or need a review of a specific piece
of equipment post it on the forums. The more eyes that see
it the more answers you may receive which may clarify things
for you.
I'll
be populating reviews from The-DJ-Equipment-Guide.com in
the DJ gear reviews forum. It will be easy to find the review
you want since it is listed by DJ equipment manufacturer.
Please post your own review even if you see one on the same
piece of gear.
The forums are open to all but registration is required.
Please pass this along to your DJ friends.

DJ Mixes from 1994ish This is just a quick update for you. I
forgot to mention in my newsletter that I found 2 mixes
I did from 1993/1994. I don't remember which year exactly.
I found them in a box that was buried in my garage. They
must have been buried for years. I totally forgot about them.
The reason why I wanted you to know this is because I wanted
you to hear what my mixes sounded like when I was just learning
how to do mixes.
You
can hear my armature mixing skills. Here is a short list
of things I found wrong with these mixes.
1. Songs play in there entirety this is a big no, no.
2. I use the same instrumental twice in the same mix. Never
do that.
3. Transitions were sloppy between some songs.
4. Beats did not match and I tried to fake it by pushing
the record to give it more speed. Very sloppy technique if
you don't know what you are doing.
5.
I bump the table and the record skips. Honest mistake but
very amateurish.
6.
The end of the tape cuts the song off. Try to have your
timing down so you don't cut the song off in the middle.
CD's usually last an hour. Make sure you have you play list
with times.
7.
An a host of other nuances that I heard. See if you can
pick out some.
