Tighten Up! Web site Updates October was a good month in terms of traffic coming and going from my web site. I want to thank all of you for subscribing to this newsletter and returning to get more information on DJ equipment. The DJ tutorials page has taken off beyond my wildest imaginations. More people visit that page than any other page but because of that more people have visited the other pages in record numbers as well. And the DJ video downloads have hit record numbers. Thank you all. Special Thank You! There is a special visitor, whose name is Christian, I would like to acknowledge. Christian emailed me regarding the cost of the bandwidth to download the videos. Christian was genuinely concerned and offered with kindness and generosity to make a donation in order to offset the cost of the bandwidth. Playing Videos From Your Desktop In order to play the 'WMV' files from your desktop, using your mouse, simply right click on the file name and choose 'save as'. This will prompt you to save the file on your computer. Once it's saved on your computer using your mouse, double click on the file where you saved it and it will play back in Windows Media Player. the month of October I was slowly implementing an RSS feed
for my DJ
music charts pages. Thanks to Apple
iTunes I have set up special RSS feeds that reflect the top 25 songs for each music category I've created. You can now get instant updates on the most popular music from your favorite music categories. In order to have the RSS music feed pulled down to your desktop you'll need and RSS reader. I was able to find an RSS reader that was 100% spy- and adware free! It’s very easy to install and use. For instruction go to my iTunes Music Charts page. Things To Look For In The Video In part 1 of this 3 part series DJ Panek gives a brief overview of the many features on the CDJ 1000. SL1200 MK2 Turntable Next he explains the use of the play/pause buttons with the cue point button. This is a front loading CD turntable also. It has a typical CD functions such as search and skip. A special feature now found more and more on DJ CD turntables is the reverse function. DJ Panek shows how to use this feature as well. DJ Panek goes on to demonstrate the loop feature and how to fix your loop if it is not playing perfectly. With a little tweaking he successfully gets the loop playing like he wants it. Additionally he explains more uses of the platter of how to speed up the track, slow it down and the touch sensitive feature.
