DJs, bands, schools and churches are forever requesting more incredible amp power for less. Well, now American Audio is giving it to them it with the introduction of the affordable new VLP-2500 amplifier.
Wielding a whopping 2,200 Watts, the VLP-2500 is the biggest and most powerful rackmount amp in American Audio’s value-priced VLP Series. The non-nonsense line has been a huge hit among budget-minded users who demand a big bang for their buck. Now, American Audio is responding to its customers’ requests for an even more powerful model—with all of the same features that made the high-performing series so successful in the first place.
“This new addition to our professional VLP Amp Series gives DJs, musicians, school bands and churches the same great performance and reliability with a lot more wattage,” said Tom Freret, national sales manager for American Audio.
Special features of the VLP-2500 Power Amp include an Input Sensitivity Selector to choose the input level that’s right for your speaker systems, as well as a Limiter, which puts a ceiling on input levels to protect against speaker damage. A High/Low Pass Filter provides 3 different ways to let highs pass, lows pass, or both. And a Ground Lift Switch helps reduce interference from other “noisy” electronic sources.
Providing a smooth, clean sound, the VLP-2500 can be operated in 3 different modes: Mono Bridge, Stereo or Parallel Mono. It delivers a power output of 1,100W RMS per channel at 4 Ohms, 1kHz, 0.1% THD; 700W RMS per channel at 8 Ohms, 1kHz, 0.1% THD; and 2,200 W RMS per channel at 8 Ohms, 1kHz, 1% THD in Mono Bridge Mode. The amp has frequency response of (+/-05db at rated power, 8 Ohms): 20Hz-20K Hz. Total Harmonic Distortion is less than 0.5% (20Hz-20K Hz at 8 Ohms). The VLP-2500 has a Slew Rate of 20V per usec, and Impedance is 20 Ohms balanced / 10 Ohms unbalanced.
The VLP-2500 comes equipped with an efficient cooling system consisting of two individual high-speed fans. Designed for mobile use, the 2-rack-space unit is compact and lightweight. It weighs 50 lbs. and measures 17.75″L x 19″W x 3.5″H. The front panel provides 4 holes to screw the unit into a rack. There is also a way to rear-mount the unit for extra security.
“We designed the VLP-2500 specifically for professional DJs, bands, and school and church customers who tell us they want a super high-powered amp but are concerned about their budgets,” Freret said. “Like the rest of the models in our extremely popular VLP Series, this unit doesn’t have a lot of fancy bells and whistles—it’s just a solid amp that delivers incredible volume as well as reliable, superlative performance day in and day out.”
The MSRP of the VLP-2500 is $739.95.
