Audio-Technica has launched the AT2020 USB, an affordable, large diaphragm, studio condenser microphone featuring USB connectivity.
Designed for direct to computer-based recording, the AT2020 USB cardioid condenser microphone is ideal for use with all popular desktop recording software. Audio Technica say that, equipped with a USB digital output, the Mac and Windows compatible AT2020 USB offers studio quality articulation and intelligibility in recording acoustic signal sources with desktop recording systems. They tell us that, with low self-noise and an extended frequency response, their state-of-the-art design and manufacturing techniques ensure that the AT2020 USB offers the company’s renowned standards of performance, build quality and reliability.

Based on the AT2020, featuring a custom-engineered low-mass diaphragm, the AT2020 USB is a rugged side-address condenser microphone. Audio Technica believe that it represents exceptional value for money in offering the performance advantages of a high-quality studio microphone with a USB interface.
The AT2020 USB has a fixed cardioid polar pattern for isolation of the intended signal source from unwanted ambient noise. Audio Technica say that the microphone’s response provides both high resolution signal accuracy and a smooth, natural sound. Phantom power for the cardioid capsule is drawn from the USB.
The microphone is supplied with a tripod desk stand, stand mount, USB cable and soft protective carrying pouch.
Pricing and Availability:
The AT2020 USB will be available in the UK from March 2008 with a RRP of £99.95 inc. VAT
