DJ Equipment Guide Home | Gemini DJ Equipment
Welcome to another DJ equipment review from yours truly on Gemini DJ equipment.
Gemini has long been a BIG friend of the uneducated DJ. My very first mixer was a Gemini Scratch Master with a digital 8 second sampler.
It lasted me about 4 solid years before it started to break down on me. Little did I know that as a new DJ Gemini should have been my last choice. I was due for a new mixer anyway. But for the price I couldn't beat the reliability. If I knew now what I knew in 1993 I would have left Gemini alone.

Gemini makes a host of DJ equipment all which is relatively inexpensive. Gemini DJ equipment consists of DJ systems, mixers, amplifiers, CD players, turntables, speakers, microphones, DJ bags, cases and accessories.
In this review I took a look at some of the more popular Gemini DJ equipment.
We'll look at Gemini Turntables, Gemini Mixers, and Gemini CD Players.
Gemini turntables come in 5 different flavors. From the top of the line to the low end models they are as follows:
PDT-6000
TT-04
XL-200

Gemini TT-04 Direct Drive Turntable
The TT-04 Gemini turntable is one of their most popular and affordable models in my opinion. This particular Gemini DJ equipment is built on a similar platform as the Technics 1200/1210 turntables BUT not to the same specifications hence the significant price difference and quality.
It's a direct drive system for good torque and power so there's no worry as with the belt drive systems (stay away from belt drive systems if you're a DJ). If you ever used a Technics turntable then you'll see where Gemini gets its look and feel because it comes from basically the same copy cat mold. You'll see this on some other models of Gemini DJ equipment. But the performance is nowhere near Technics.
If you are looking for a cost effective turntable then the Gemini TT-04 may be right for you. If you simply like Gemini DJ equipment and want to take it to the next level and some then you'll be very happy with the PDT-6000.
It's a digital turntable with a key control fader that allows the music to be played in a different key without changing the pitch.
It has a (+,-) 35% pitch for unheard of control and one of the highest torque ratios in the industry and there is a whole lot more. Gemini DJ gear is like the poor mans DJ equipment but what ever Gemini DJ equipment you purchase don't say I didn't warn you.
The TT-04 is a direct-drive turntable featuring an adjustable pitch control and pitch bend buttons, a strobe illuminator, anti-skate adjustment, an straight tonearm, start/stop control, and a target light.
Gemini mixers are plentiful in variety and price range. Here is line of their DJ mixers. They have so many I dare not tackle all of them in this review.

So here are a few that I like based on price and features.

Gemini PS-626i 3 Channel Pro Preamp Mixer
See a video history of the Gemini PS676i from 1997 and 2005
Upgrade to the Gemini iPMX 2-Channel 10" Mixer
The Gemini PS-626i is a very versatile mixer for the price of about $119 online. However it it very light and flimsyfeeling. It has 3 channels and push button cueing which makes channel selection a breeze when you are doing a mix. Each channel has its on gain, EQ and effects. But the best feature to help with your mixes is the beat sync indicator.
The other mixer is the FX-7000 mixer which was introduced to the market in 2003 with flying colors. It won the T-Scan Award as Best New Mixer of 2003.
Because of all of its features from independent channel control to 14 superior effects and the layout of knobs to faders makes it easy to use. It's very impressive and everything is put the in the right place. It's clearly under priced and sets a new benchmark for the other manufactures of DJ mixers to reach. But I would not hold a lot of stock in that.
As many of you might know Gemini is not a high end DJ manufacturer because the DJ equipment is made with inferior part in my onion hence the reason for the low prices on their DJ gear.
Gemini has been around since the late 1970's and has been a major player in the DJ market ever since. So it's no surprise that since the coming of the digital age they would have a quality digital product in their CD players. Of all the Gemini DJ equipment, they make a strong play with their CD players.
Just like their DJ mixers, Gemini makes a number of
Pro DJ CD players.

Gemini DJ equipment can last you a long time with proper maintenance. Some of the lower end models can take the abuse too but just be careful. Like I said, my Gemini DJ equipment last me 4 years and it was well worth it.
