The Gemini CD1800X pro CD player and digital turntable offers powerful DSP (digital signal processing) effects such as "on the fly" seamless looping, zoom (flange), reverse, filter, and brake, which help your digital DJ-ing more closely approximate--and even exceed in quality--theeffects from an analog turntable.
The CD1800X also offers real-time interactive scratching, giving you complete vinyl-like control over your program. Other functions include 4 instant-start "hot key" cue buttons and a digital-audio output for direct connectionwith a CD or minidisc recorder or a computer's sound card.
The frame-accurate Gemini CD1800X also offers Master Tempo, which grants more extreme BPM (beats per minute) variations while preserving the musical key of your program. Pitch control ranges are +/- 4 percent, 8 percent, and 16 percent (with a +/- 4 percent maximum for realtime pitch bending), and a 10-second anti-skip buffer brings peace of mind when others are dancing or moving around you while you work.
The zoom effect changes the delay time as you rotate the jog wheel, mixing a short delay with the playback sound. This produces the sound of a jet engine (flanger effect) using just a single CD player. The "filter" effect changes the cut-off frequency of the playback sound when you rotate the jog wheel. This lets you extract and play back specific parts from the playback sound, such as focusing on a flute while tuning out most of the bass drum and bass guitar.
The fly cue function on the Gemini CD1800X lets you set cues on the fly with one press of a button while listening. Press the cue button to return to the memorized cue point. With instant start, a track is in action within 0.015 seconds of your pressing play.
Familiar features like Robo Start (with 2 players connected), direct track access (0 to 99 tracks), and single/continuous play modes make this front-load CD player a valuable addition to any setup. Display options include track elapsed, track remain, or total remain.

So now that you have Amazon's product description of the Gemini CD1800X out the way I'll let you know what I think.
Overall this is a very good unit by Gemini and it's their best seller by far. For what you get it is extremely economical but that's been Gemini's calling card for years.
The Gemini CD1800X is jammed packed with features as you can see and very versatile with its ability to perform at about the same level as a Pioneer CDJ 1000. But don't get carried away. It's still a Gemini and they don't cater to the upscale DJ that demands more from their pro CD players.
I like the fact that the Gemini CD1800Xhas the hot cue points and mater tempo control. These seem to get used alot in pro CD players. The instant start is plausible and the fact that its slot loading tells me that they really wanted to put out a solid unit the Gemini CD1800X.
I would have like to see the anti skip feature longer than 10 seconds. They should have given it more memory to handle a longer time. I would have also like to see a cleaner design like their CDJ-02 but because there are so many features to this unit and it's so compact I guess it's the best they could do.
