DJ Equipment Guide Home | Numark TTX1

An ingenious design sends the Numark TTX1 Direct-Drive Turntable into the next galaxy.

The Numark TTX1 has done a very, very bad thing. They have turned the DJ world on its ear and forced diehard Technics 1200 users to come into the 21 century myself included.

As a lifelong Technics SL1200MK2 user I never thought I'd be praising another deck. But I have to give credit where credit is due. The Numark research and development team have surpassed even some of the highest demands from DJ enthusiasts.

The TTX1 boasts one of the highest torque motors on the market coming in at an impressive 3.2 pounds per inch torque. You got to have a big magnet to get that kind of power. This leads into an instant start up time of 0.25 of a second. It can't get much faster than that.

Not only is the motor powerful it is incredibly accurate and with that accuracy you can really depend on your mixes to be precise. Because the motor is so powerful it can go into reverse at the touch of a button with no drag. How do you like them apples?

Can you say 2 for 1?

The Numark TTX1 is like getting two turntables for the price of one. The two modes that it can use are battle mode and club mode.

The Numark TTX1 Direct-Drive Turntable delivers 3.7kg torque for instant reaction and utmost stability. World's first truly multidirectional turntable is impervious to external noise and vibration with both rubber feet and a silicon rubber base that is bolted to an anti-resonant core. Control button and pitch fader cartridges can be reversed for battle mode. Straight, die-cast tone arm assembly can be swapped with included S-shaped arm without tools making the Numark TTX1 Turntable an ultra-versatile mixing and skratching tool.

In battle mode the Numark TTX1 turntable's tone arms are is opposite the DJ. With this the S-curve tone arm (club mode) and the straight tone arm (battle mode) are easily interchangeable and the pitch fader and button cartridges positions are swappable as well.

So based on your mood you can use the default battle mode or change it up to the popular club mode with the tone arm to the right of the DJ. The dual start/stop buttons are conveniently located also.

It has a solid construction like the Technics 1200 with aluminum die cast platter and body. The dampening materials all the way around really offer good low rumble db's so there's no transfer of sound to the needle other than vinyl.

The TTX1 is a digital turntable. It has S/PDIF output and phono/line outputs with no ground wire. There is no need to worry about a hum. All cables are detachable so there's no more frayed cables in your future with the TTX1.

There is a large LCD screen that shows the RPM and PBM. The key lock feature will allow you to keep the key of the song while increasing the speed of the record in order to match beats without having that chipmunk sound that is so familiar on the Technics SL1200 MK2 turntables. This is a major innovation.

With the Numark TTX1 creating a mix just got a lot more creative.
